St. Andrews University Faces Tough Challenge in Volleyball Match Against Bluefield
In an exciting matchup, St. Andrews University battled against Bluefield University in a closely contested volleyball game. The match showcased moments of brilliance from both teams, with Bluefield ultimately coming out on top with a decisive 3-0 victory.

First Set: Bluefield 25, St. Andrews 12
The first set began with St. Andrews showing early promise, leveling the score at 1-1. However, Bluefield quickly gained momentum, fueled by strong serves and tactical plays. Madison Rodabaugh was a standout player, consistently scoring with powerful kills, helping her team to a commanding 14-6 lead. Despite a timeout from St. Andrews aimed at regrouping, Bluefield maintained their dominance, closing the set at 25-12.
Second Set: Bluefield 25, St. Andrews 14
The second set continued in favor of Bluefield, who started with an impressive 5-0 run. Nayerly Jimenez Irla's excellent setting facilitated numerous attacks, including a series of kills from Chesed Russell and Joslyn Evans. St. Andrews struggled with errors, which further widened the gap. Although they attempted to mount a comeback, Bluefield's relentless offense secured them the second set as well, finishing 25-14.
Third Set: Bluefield 25, St. Andrews 20
In the third set, St. Andrews showed signs of resilience, fighting back to tie the score at 14-14 after some strategic plays and key kills from Faith Wilson. However, Bluefield proved too strong, with effective blocks and consistent hitting from Rodabaugh and Evans. The set was marked by tense moments, but Bluefield ultimately clinched the match with a 25-20 victory.
The match highlighted both teams' potential, with Bluefield showcasing their prowess as they prepare for future competitions. Bailey Zivitski was a key player for the Knights, showcasing a total of 18 digs, Zivitski also reached a total of 1,000 career digs at the begining of the match. St. Andrews will look to regroup and refine their strategy as they continue their season.
