Greensboro, NC- The St. Andrews University track team ran well at the Aggie Classic hosted by North Carolina A&T on Saturday as 6 personal bests were achieved as well as two guys winning their individual heats.
The highlights include junior Tyler Beaver (JR/Hillsborough, NC) running a new personal best and winning heat time in the 1500 meters in 4:19.60 to place 21st overall while also running the 800 meters in 2:10.16 to finish 37th. Senior James Green (SR/College Park, GA) then won his heat in the 200 meters while also setting a personal best time of 25.43. Freshman Michael Hare (FR/Marlton, NJ) also won his heat in the 400 meters in a season best time of 52.57 while on the women's side, Nora Daarhar (FR/Rabat, Morocco) then ran a school record time of 14.33 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
Also setting new personal bests were freshman Virginia Tormey (FR/Clayton, NC) in the 1500 meters running a 5:31.90, Kara Thornton (FR/North Oconee, GA) in the 1500 as well running a 6:04.66 while Chase Kopp (FR/Bealeton, VA) also set his new best time in the 1500 in 4:40.40. Running the top time for St. Andrews in the 800 meters was sophomore Kaitlyn Stempien (SO/Raleigh, NC) who ran a 2:41.92 while Tormey and Arnold finished right behind her. Green also ran the 100 meters in 12.68 seconds as he continues to improve week to week while Daarhar ran her first hurdle race of the year running a 18.9 second time in the 100 meter hurdles. Justin Brown (FR/Woodstock, GA) also ran a good time of 2:08 in the 800 meters.
The Knight runners will next be in action this week at the AAC Championships in Johnson City, TN on April 16-17.
