Men's Basketball - Thu, Jan. 23, 2014 by Troy Baranik

Milligan, TN—The St. Andrews University men's and women's basketball teams dropped both ends of their conference doubleheader at Milligan College Wednesday evening. The women lost a heartbreaker 67-64 while the men fell 75-53.

The men, however, could not keep pace with the high–percentage shooting of Milligan as the Buffaloes were consistent for both halves shooting 46 percent for the game. They held the Knights to just 35 percent in the first half and 29 percent in the second half.

Milligan was also very efficient from the three-point line shooing 10 of 18 (55.6%) including 7 of 12 in the first half while SAU only made 4 three-pointers the whole game.

Leading the Knights, however, was freshman forward Nathaniel Pittman as he recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds along with 2 blocks, 3 assists, and 2 steals as he played his best game of the season. Also leading St. Andrews was junior guard Jibri Banner with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Milligan was led by Torian Sitton's 16 points and improves to 12-7 overall and 6-5 in the conference. St. Andrews falls to 2-13 and 1-10 and will next host Point (4-17) on Saturday at 3 pm.
