Columbia, SC-- The St. Andrews University women's basketball team got their fifth win of the season on Saturday afternoon as they rolled to a big win over the Columbia International Rams 81-43 in Columbia.
Senior guard Tyler Knight had the hot touch this game as she shot 6 of 7 from the three-point line (86%) and had 20 points overall for her new career high. Sophomore point guard Mercedes Smith also had a huge game as she scored 15 points to go along with 6 rebounds and a new career high of 12 assists.
Senior forward Natia Gasque also had a good game with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and a block. Also going perfect from the field (3 for 3) was sophomore guard Jamisha Lee with 8 points
The Lady Knights also shot an amazing 10 of 17 from the three-point line (59%) while holding the Lady Rams, now 0-9, to just 26% overall shooting.
SAU improves to 5-5 on the season and not only heads into the holidays with an even .500 record, but also surpasses last year's win total with the victory and now have their most wins since 2007.
St. Andrews will next be in action on January 2 when they host conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan College (6-3) at 12 pm inside Harris Court.
