Laurinburg, NC-- The St. Andrews University baseball team played game two of their intrasquad World Series Tuesday afternoon with the SAU Knights Royal pounding the SAU Knights Gray 11-4 in seven innings at Clark Field.
SAU Knights Royal scored five runs in the fifth on an RBI single by junior Michael Durig, an RBI single by senior Daniel Whitecavage, a two-run single by junior shortstop Rickey Schattauer, and an RBI single by sophomore Kyle Schade.
Schade racked up three RBIs on three hits for SAU Knights Royal.
Junior pitcher Thomas Brown recorded the win for SAU Knights Royal. He allowed four runs over 4 2/3 innings. Brown struck out three, walked two and gave up eight hits.
Junior pitcher Jordan Blair couldn't get it done on the rubber for SAU Knights Gray, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
The top of the first saw SAU Knights Royal take an early lead, 1-0. After junior infielder Blaine Turner singled, junior 3B Michael Luing singled, plating junior Tyler Radcliff.
The game was never in doubt after the fourth, as SAU Knights Royal scored two runs on a two-run home run by Schade.
