Laurinburg, NC-- St. Andrews volleyball hosted Union College (KY) on Saturday but dropped the conference match in 4 sets to the Lady Bulldogs.

Union (10-5, 4-2) took the first set 25-21 before St. Andrews rallied to win the second set 25-21 as well. Union would then go on to win the latter two sets 25-13 and 25-20 and were led by 20 kills from Paige Moore and 18 from Caity Merritt.

St. Andrews was led again by their senior blocker Kendelyn Wheaton and her 14 kills on 19 attempts while the freshmen trio of Tessa Smith, Anne Patterson, and Nora Darrhar all finished with 8 kills apiece. Patterson was almost perfect again as she was 8 for 9 as was Darrhar. Overall on the day, SAU was 47 of 65 for a 44.6 hitting percentage.

Sophomore setter Alexis Cordova led with 28 assists while also contributing 12 defensive digs. Senior libero Ayanna Lindborg led with 28 digs as well.

Wheaton now leads the Lady Knights in kills on the season with 138 while Cordova leads in assists with 230. Darrhar leads in digs with 168 while Clay leads in blocks with 43.

St. Andrews (6-11, 2-7) will next have some time off before concluding their long home stand with a game vs. conference leader Bryan College (18-1, 8-0) next Saturday at 1 pm.
