St. Simons Island, GA- The St. Andrews University golf teams had a decent showing over the last two days at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational.
On the women's side, SAU ended up finishing in 7th place overall out of 11 teams with a two day total of 657 (328-329), which was just one stroke behind rival Webber International who came in sixth. Coastal Georgia won the women's invite with a 610 while fellow AAC members Tennessee Wesleyan and Milligan finished above the Lady Knights in 3rd and 5th place respectively. St. Andrews did finish in front of other AAC members Truett-McConnell and Columbia, who were 10th and 11th.
Leading the Lady Knights was freshman Madison Moore who came in 20th place with scores of 79 and 83 while senior Sadiyya Gillespie was 83-80 over the two days for a total of 163 and a 22nd place finish.
Junior Laura Kinsman then placed next in 24th with scores of 80 and 84 while freshman Paige Hartman came in 4th on the team with scores of 87 and 82 for a tie for 30th place. Next on the Knights was a freshman from Puerto Rico, Gabriella Cidras, who shot 86-89 for 44th place while sophomore Sheridan Dillon-Robinson was 52nd at 93-86 and junior Christina Agosto finishing 57th (95-96).
The women are next competing at the Tennessee Wesleyan Fall tournament at Springbrook Country Club in Niota, TN on Sept. 23-24.
