Laurinburg, NC-- The JV Volleyball team won their first game of the season last night as they topped Wytheville CC (N.C.) in 4 sets to give Head JV Coach Katie Lovett her first coaching victory.

The Lady Knights won the first set 25-19 and won a back-and-forth 2nd set 25-23 before falling 4 points short in set # 3. However, they would go on to rout Wytheville in set four 25-9.

They were led by senior right side hitter Ruka Akolade and sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Dean who play on varsity, but helped out the JV on this night. Sophomore setter Sierra Agrella was also a big help as she contributed quality assists and many defensive digs. Junior Mariah Nesbitt was also a big help as she used her experience to help with kills, sets and as a floor leader.
