St. Andrews University Head Volleyball Coach Holly Mandeville has announced the signing of Woodrow Wilson, WV volleyball all-stater Anne Patterson who signed a letter of intent with the Knights recently for the upcoming 2013 season.
The 6'1 lefty Patterson started four seasons for Woodrow, playing in two state tournaments and earning all-state honors three times. Her senior campaign she had 501 kills and only 75 errors in 980 attempts. She also had 159 blocks.
Patterson said, "St. Andrews is a good fit for me. This is a really good opportunity for me to further my career, and it's a good place to live," she said. "I think their academics will be good for me. They have what I want to study, since I want to be an attorney like my dad. Most attorneys pick political science (for their undergraduate degree)."
Mandeville is Patterson's former Club Attack coach as well. Patterson said she will miss her high school coaches Shirley Brown and Sharon Pinardo. "They opened their arms for me in the ninth grade. They were almost like second mothers for me. They benefitted me a lot in my career."
