Murfreesboro, NC- The St. Andrews University women's lacrosse team crushed Chowan University today 19-7 to record their first win since 2011 and first win for head coach Sheyna Grabowski at St. Andrews.

Senior midfielder Shana Schroeder and junior midfielder Catherine Lovallo led the Knights with 5 goals apiece while Schroeder also added 3 assists. Junior attacker Jackie Jones and senior attack Megan Jolly also added 3 goals apiece as SAU stormed out to a huge 13-2 halftime lead.

Jones was also big in assists as she led the team with five. Senior Ramsey Vogt also scored 3 goals while fellow senior Victoria Bickett scored one and recorded 4 ground balls. Jones and Schroeder led with 8 points apiece as SAU was able to outshoot Chowan 35-17.

Chowan's (0-2) Mackenzie Reid led her team with five goals as well. SAU also only had 3 turnovers the whole game while Chowan had 10.

Senior goalie Meghan Powell finished with 6 saves, all coming in their first half as Chowan could only muster 7 shots total in the second half.

SAU (1-0) will continue their road trip when they play tomorrow Feb. 21 at North Carolina Wesleyan at 3 pm.
