Men's Basketball - Tue, Jan. 29, 2013 by Troy Baranik

Milligan, TN- The St. Andrews Men's Basketball team traveled north to battle AAC foe Milligan College today and after a tight first half where SAU only trailed by 9, the Buffaloes were too much in the second half as they coasted to a 91-57 win.

Freshman center Chris Orr led with a team leading 10 points and 5 rebounds while senior guard Orlando Edwards had 9 points with junior guard Clavontae Brown and junior forward Alem Peljto each having 8 apiece. Peljto, Brown, and Orr all shot over 50% for the game.

Knights freshman guard Chris Tucker also played very well this evening as he got some great game experience. Tucker tied Orr with 5 rebounds while also making his second three-pointer of the season to go along with an assist and a steal. Freshman guard DJ Carnegie also led with 3 assists and 3 steals.

Orr is now 17th in the NAIA Div. 2 with 1.74 blocks/game while ranking 3rd in the conference in total blocks with 33.

Milligan had 4 players in double-figures including a team high of 18 from forward Tyler DeVault and a double-double of 15 points and an impressive 12 assists from point guard Cartree Pettis.

The Buffaloes, as a whole, shot 48% from the field while SAU shot 37%, but did get within 8 points with less than ten minutes remaining in the game before Milligan was able to pull away.

St. Andrews drops to 0-19 and 0-11 in the AAC while the Buffaloes improve to 17-7 and 9-2.

The Knights return home this Thursday when they host another tough opponent in conference-leading #25 Tennessee Wesleyan College (10-1) at 7:30 pm in Harris Court.

Come out and support your Knights!
