Mt. Vernon, GA-- The St. Andrews wrestling team won one and lost 2 Saturday afternoon as they wrestled their first three NAIA and regional opponents of the season.

The guys first lost to Life University 22-21 in heartbreaking fashion and then fell to Brewton-Parker College 25-12 before stomping Truett-McConnell College 48-9.

Jared Key and Denzel Vaughan both went 3-0 on the day with Vaughan leading with 2 pins.

Chauncey Foster went 2-1, suffering his first loss since early November, and now stands at 14-3 on the season while sophomore Steffan Baker made his return to the lineup going 2-1 as did fellow sophomore Kody Getkin who went 2-1 with 9 takedowns. Russell Lindsay had a good day too going 2-1 along with his team-leading 5th pin.

SAU is now 3-9 and heads to Newport News, VA next Saturday for the Builders Invitational with action slated to start at 9 am. Results of today's matches are below:
