Waleska, GA— In the end, the Reinhardt Eagles were just too much for the Knights as SAU could not build off their tightly contested first half and midway lead and dropped their fifth conference game 119-85 Tuesday night in Waleska.

SAU's offense was able to keep pace at least through the first half even taking a 27-25 lead midway through the half before the Eagles scored 9 straight points to take a lead that SAU could never recover from. Junior guard Clavontae Brown led the Knight offense with 22 points and 9 rebounds on 8 of 11 shooting (72%) while freshman center Chris Orr scored 14 points and blocked 3 shots improving to 18 blocks on the year which is good for 5th best in the AAC.

SAU shot 44% from the field for the game while they were 32% on three pointers. Freshman point guard DJ Carnegie led in assists with 5 while sophomore forward Marquie Smith went 3 for 5 from three-point range to lead the Knights as he finished with 9 points and 4 rebounds. Junior forward Alem Peljto also made his season debut for the Knights tonight making a few shots and even assisting on others and played very well as he looks to gain more game experience.

Reinhardt had 6 guys in double figures including a team high of 22 points and 5 assists from Quinton Wood. Wood also led the Eagles in threes as he was 5 of 9 from behind the arc. The Eagles shot 45% overall for the game and were 36% from behind the arc with 15 three-pointers, whereas the Knights could only sink 8 threes. Reinhardt also attempted 24 more shots than the Knights as they pulled away for the victory in the second half.

St. Andrews falls to 0-13 with the loss and 0-5 in AAC play while the Eagles improve to 7-7 and 4-1.

SAU is next in action when they return home this coming Thursday to host struggling Montreat College (3-10) at 7:30 pm inside Harris Court. Please come out and support your Knights.
