GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The St. Andrews University Women's Soccer team dropped their conference road game 2-0 to Brenau University (Ga.) on Wednesday afternoon.


BU broke through in the 23rd minute to take a 1-0 lead and then led in shots 4-1 at halftime.

The Lady Knights then played much better in the second half outshooting the Tigers 5-4, but could not find the net past the two BU keepers, who combined for 4 saves. Brenau then added an insurance goal in the 81st minute to put the game away.

Senior goalkeeper Rachel Widdicks (SR/Hull, England) finished with one save on two shots playing the first half while junior keeper Liz Garner (JR/Huntingtown, MD) allowed the second-half goal, but made four saves.

Brenau controlled the shot count just 8-6 while SAU's senior midfielder Arianna Brown (SR/Freeport, Bahamas) led with 3 shots and two on goal.

SAU falls to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the conference while Brenau improves to 1-4-1 in the AAC and 1-8-2 overall. This was just the third meeting all-time with the Tigers of Brenau as they lead the series 2-1.

SAU will now remain on the road to face conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan University (5-3-1) on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
