Devon Omar on AAC All-Tournament Team

PINEVILLE, Ky. - The St. Andrews University women's golf team competed at the AAC Fall Championship on Monday and Tuesday at Wasiota Winds GC hosted by Union College in Pineville, KY.

The St. Andrews women shot rounds of 342 on day one and 351 on day two to finish in 8th place out of 12 teams with a 693 to improve by one stroke overall from their previous tournament this season.

Milligan College (TN) won the fall championship by 10 strokes over Tennessee Wesleyan with a 614 while their top two golfers tied for first at 148 (+4).

Junior Devon Omar (JR/Grovetown, GA) paced the Knights by shooting a career-best round of 74 on day one and then a 78 to place 5th overall and finish just 4 shots back of the leaders and only 8 strokes over par (152) for the tournament. Omar was named to the All-tournament team as well for her strong play. She also improved her score by five strokes from the first tournament of the season.

Senior Olivia Pruitt (SR/Duncan, OK) then placed 2nd on the Knights and in a tie for 33rd overall with rounds of 85 and 86 to finish with a 171.

The other Lady Knights competing were senior Isabelle Sullivan (SR/Fremont, NH) and freshman Hayley Reed (FR/Concord, NH). Sullivan finished 45th after rounds of 86 and 95 for a 181 while Reed finished in a tie for 50th (189) improving on day two by 5 strokes with a 92.

The Lady Knights will next return home to host the SAU Fall Invitational at Scotch Meadows Country Club in Laurinburg on October 23-24. Tee times are TBA.
