The NAIA top 20 wrestling rankings came out last week and the St. Andrews wrestling team just missed out on the top 20 as they were receiving 5 votes from the panel of coaches for a 28th place ranking.
However, the Knights had two individuals that were ranked in junior Chauncey Foster as he was ranked 11th in the nation at 125 lbs. while senior co-captain Sterling Perry came in at #15 at 141 lbs. Foster leads the team in wins with 8 and 2 major decisions. Foster also has only one loss this season and that came to a Division 1 opponent back in early November.
There were 6 other East regional teams in the top 20 including Campbellsville, Ky who came in at #5.
The Knights wreslting team is back in action January 9 when they host rival UNC-Pembroke at 7 pm here at Harris Court.
