Mid-South Conference announces Appalachian Division Football Players of the Week

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Bluefield's (Va.) Devon Jackson, St. Andrews' (N.C.) Trevor McNeil and Union's (Ky.) C'Darius Cateo are the Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division Football Defensive, Offensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

MSC Appalachian Offensive Player of the Week

Trevor McNeil – St. Andrews (N.C.) – Fr. – Running Back – Charleston, S.C.

McNeil rushed for 136 yards on just 14 carries and three touchdowns to lead St. Andrews to a 48-25 win over visiting Cincinnati Christian (Ohio) on Saturday.

The win was the first in the program's history in the Knights' home opener.

McNeil averaged 9.7 yards per carry -- part of a 338-yard rushing day overall for the Knights.

McNeil is currently fifth in the Mid-South, averaging 83.7 rushing yards per game. His 251 total rushing yards are also second in the conference.

St. Andrews improves to 1-2 on the season with the win and will next play again at home on Sept. 23 vs. Faulkner University (Ala.) (1-2) at 1:30 PM.

This is McNeil's first-ever MSC Player of the Week honor.
