CHARLOTTE, NC-- The St. Andrews University track & field team competed in the Div. II Johnson C. Smith Invitational over the weekend in Charlotte.
Junior Zack Castor (JR/Menifee, CA) led the Knights again with his runner-up finish overall in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:04. He was actually the first collegiate runner to finish the race as the winner was an unattached runner.
Sophomore Eduardo Andrade (SO/Mount Holly, NC) also had a quality finish in the 800 meters placing 9th overall in 2:02.4 while senior Michael Hare (SR/Marlton, NJ) was 26th in the 400 meters in 52.68 seconds. Freshman Caleb Calderon (FR/Austin, TX) also ran the 5K in 17:52 to place 8th overall.
On the women's side, junior Hannah Biddle (JR/Blue Bell, PA) led the charge with her 20th place finish in the 800 meters in 2:40 while freshman sprinter Jordan Bass (FR/Purvis, MS) ran the 100 meters in 13.57 seconds to place 34th.
Senior Danaye Mokma (SR/Supply, NC) also ran the 400 meters in 1:11 to place 28th while sophomore Nina Havelka (SO/Charlotte, NC) was 25th in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.2 seconds. Havelka also ran the 400 meter hurdles in 1:16 to place 19th.
The teams are next competing this Saturday at the USC Gamecock Invitational.
