ATHENS, Tenn. - The St. Andrews University women's basketball team fell 89-64 on the road to conference contender Tennessee Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon.

After a tough first quarter that saw SAU trail by 10 at 17-27, the Lady Knights would go into the half trailing 48-31 after shooting just 26 percent and 31 percent from 3-point range.

Unfortunately for the Knights, the Lady Bulldogs would come out on fire and cruise through the third quarter outscoring SAU 26-8 to increase their lead to 74-39. The Knights would then outscore TWU 25-15 in the fourth but it was not enough as SAU only shot 35 percent in the half with Tennessee shooting 42 percent.

Senior guard Kayla Johnson (SR/Greensboro, NC) had a strong all-around game finishing a rebound shy of a double-double with 17 points and 9 rebounds along with 4 assists and a block.

Freshman point guard LeeAysia Williamson (FR/Greensboro, NC) also contributed 13 points as she struggled from the floor shooting just 26 percent with 3 rebounds and an assist.

Junior guard Taylor Sehm-Crowley (JR/Concord, NC) then added 8 points, with an assist, and a team-best two steals while fellow guard Kelsey Houser (SO/Connelly Springs, NC) made three 3-pointers to finish with nine points.

Freshman guard Victoria Washington (FR/Fredericksburg, VA) finished with just 6 points, a team-high nine rebounds, a block, an assist, and one steal while junior forward Ellen Dukes (JR/Augusta, GA) pulled down five rebounds with seven points, a steal, and an assist. Freshman forward Kayla Smith (FR/Lynchburg, VA) also added six rebounds, four points, and two assists in the defeat.

St. Andrews falls to 5-20 overall and 2-18 in the AAC while TWU improves to 14-12 overall and 12-8 in conference.

SAU will next return home on Wednesday to host conference foe Bluefield College (Va.) at 5:30 p.m.
