COLUMBIA, SC- The St. Andrews women's basketball team dropped their road game to conference team Allen University 85-69 in Columbia Saturday afternoon.

Allen led 16-10 after the first quarter and 36-22 at half. the second half was much more high-scoring with the team combining for 49 points in the third and 48 in the fourth. Allen only outscored SAU 50-47 in the second half as they shot 47 percent for the game and 41.7 percent from three (10/24).

St. Andrews actually shot an impressive 56 percent (23/41) but only 35 percent from three-point range while also making more free throws than Allen. The Yellow Jackets only won the rebounding battle 31-26 while SAU secured more defensive rebounds.

Junior Forward Ellen Dukes (JR/Augusta, GA) led the Knights with 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals while freshman point guard LeeAysia Williamson (FR/Greensboro, NC) tallied 18 points with four boards.

Freshman forward Kayla Smith (FR/Lynchburg, VA) added ten points and four rebounds. Senior guard Kayla Johnson (SR/Greensboro, NC) also recorded five rebounds with a team-best three assists. Guards Victoria Washington (FR/Fredericksburg, VA) and Taylor Sehm-Crowley (JR/Concord, NC) also scored ten and eight points respectively. Kelsey Houser would also add five points and three rebounds.

St. Andrews falls to 5-14 overall and 2-12 in the AAC while Allen improves to 8-12 overall and 5-9 in the conference.

SAU will next remain on the road to face Union College (Ky.) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
